Create Your Own UST ‘Birth Certificate’ for Accurate Documentation You Can Rely On Years Down the Road
Source North America recommends that fuel site operators create a “birth certificate” for new underground storage tanks and related equipment. The purpose of the birth certificate is to establish a record of important equipment information before the equipment is covered by backfill. (It’s pretty easy to walk out to a dispenser and find the dimensions of the swivel. The same can’t be said of a UST after it is buried underground.)
Download Source’s UST Birth Certificate PDF, fill out the form, and save it with your records. Reference this document for maintenance, upgrades, insurance needs and more. Strong documentation such as this will likely be viewed as an asset to any future property owners. Many USTs installed in the ’80s and ’90s are nearing the end of their warrantied service life. For assistance planning a UST replacement or upgrade, please contact Source’s SOLUTIONS Design Group.
